At this special event, open to everyone, Gen-la Jampa will explain the methods to build a strong foundation for happiness and confidence within your own mind. Be empowered to rise above negative habits of mind, and learn how to overcome them with proven meditation techniques and by developing attitudes that support inner peace. By deeply engaging with Buddha’s timeless wisdom, we can live the happy life we each wish for, with a healthy mind and a good heart.

The Teacher

Gen-la Kelsang Jampa is the Deputy Spiritual Director of the New Kadampa Tradition-International Kadampa Buddhist Union and the Resident Teacher of the International Kadampa Retreat Centre Grand Canyon. He has studied under Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche and taught internationally for many years and is greatly admired for his warm personality and clear, inspiring teachings.

Getting There

Arriving by public transport
From Railway Square (Stand L) catch the 423, 426, 428 or M30 alighting on City Rd (immediately before Butlin Ave). The auditorium is a 5 minute walk along Butlin Av from the bus stop. It is also a 10 minute walk from Redfern Station. Please visit the NSW Transport website if you would like further help planning your trip:

Arriving by car
Metered parking is available along Darlington Rd around a 1 min walk from the venue, and the Shepherd St car park ($2 per hr) is also a 5-10 min walk.

Once you get there
Please access The University of Sydney Abercrombie Building via Codrington St where you will find a downward sloping ramp which takes you directly to the reception foyer for this event. Be on the lookout for our event ushers who’ll be able to provide assistance if needed. They’ll be wearing lanyards clearly labelled ‘Volunteer’.
