At this special public talk, our National Spiritual Director Gen Kelsang Rabten will explain how to identify the causes of happiness and suffering from within. Don’t miss this very special opportunity to discover how it is possible to use the science of happiness to transform your daily experience.

The Teacher

Gen Kelsang Rabten is the National Spiritual Director for Kadampa Buddhism in Australia, New Zealand, and South East Asia, and is also the Resident Teacher of Kadampa Meditation Centre Brisbane. Gen Rabten has trained under the guidance of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso for over twenty-five years. His deep faith in Buddha’s teachings, and the sincerity of his practice inspire many people to embark on a meaningful and rich spiritual life.

Getting There

Arriving by public transport
From Railway Square (Stand L) catch the 423, 426, 428 or M30 alighting on City Rd (immediately before Butlin Ave). The auditorium is a 5 minute walk along Butlin Av from the bus stop. It is also a 10 minute walk from Redfern Station. Please visit the NSW Transport website if you would like further help planning your trip:

Arriving by car
Metered parking is available along Darlington Rd around a 1 min walk from the venue, and the Shepherd St car park ($2 per hr) is also a 5-10 min walk. Broadway Shopping Centre car park is also around a 15 minute walk away.

Once you get there
Please access The University of Sydney Abercrombie Building via Codrington St where you will find a downward sloping ramp which takes you directly to the reception foyer for this event. Be on the lookout for our event ushers who’ll be able to provide assistance if needed. They’ll be wearing lanyards clearly labelled ‘Volunteer’.
