Following on from the extraordinary Mahamudra Teachings given at this year’s Australian Festival, Kelsang Lhachog will guide a short retreat on the Oral Instructions of Mahamudra.
The Retreat Topic
During this day retreat you will have the opportunity to meditate on the sublime teachings of Mahamudra. These instructions are the essence of Buddha’s 84,000 teachings. Temporarily, the meditations on Mahamudra enable us to experience a clear, spacious and profoundly peaceful mind. Ultimately, through meditating on these instructions sincerely, we can attain the state of a conqueror Buddha in the space of this one short life.
This retreat is held at our modern urban temple in Surry Hills. The retreat will begin with an introductory talk on Thursday Night, January 11 at 7.30pm. Each session of the retreat is 1 1/4hrs long and consists of short chanted prayers sung in English, a teaching and guided meditation. You are welcome to attend as many sessions as you like. There is no need to book for sessions just come along! If you haven’t been to the Temple before, it is suggested that you arrive 5-10 minutes early to sessions so someone can show you around.
