Workshop Description


In this modern age we are surrounded by distractions. Even when we have the time to relax we tend to switch on the TV or grab our phone and are subjected to a multitude of ever-changing images and sounds.

We are so used to being stimulated from the outside that we find it difficult to be quiet and enjoy the stillness of our own mind.

In this workshop, learn how to switch off and experience the deep peace that comes from pure concentration.

You'll come away knowing how to:


  • Understand what real happiness is

  • Recognise what gets in the way of our happiness

  • Abandon the objects and ways of thinking that prevent us from being happy

  • Overcome distraction through meditation

Workshop Format

Over two sessions (both one and a quarter hours long), you’ll receive teachings on how to develop authentic self confidence, and be guided through a series of meditations to deepen your experience of this confidence. You’ll have the opportunity to have your questions answered by a Buddhist nun and teacher with many years of meditation experience. A delicious home-made morning tea will be served in the break to give you time to relax and absorb the teachings. Everyone is welcome.

The Teacher

Gen Kelsang Lhachog, the Resident Teacher at KMC Sydney will teach this workshop. With 25 years’ experience in meditation, Gen Lhachog explains Buddha’s teachings with sincerity and kindness, in a way that is clear and easy to apply to our daily life.
