Workshop Description

We often find ourselves stuck in a mental rut, unable to let go of painful experiences. It can feel impossible to truly forgive our own and others’ mistakes, or to feel optimistic about the future.

Learn how to let go and move on from things that hold you back in life at this Sunday Morning Workshop with visiting teacher, Buddhist nun Gen Kelsang Tsalden. Discover how to harness the strength within your own mind to rise above and transform your response to challenging events.

The workshop will include opportunities to be guided in meditations and positive ways of thinking that will bring you real mental freedom, so you’ll be able to keep a light and flexible mind, even when things get difficult.

You'll come away knowing how to:

  • identify why it can feel hard to let go of the past
  • see beyond hurt, difficult relationships and conflict
  • connect with your potential for forgiveness
  • increase your ability to live in the moment
  • move ahead with your life, staying on track with a flexible attitude

Workshop Format

Over two sessions (both one and a quarter hours long), you’ll receive teachings on how to find pure happiness, and be guided through a series of meditations to deepen your experience of this happiness. You’ll have the opportunity to have your questions answered by a Buddhist nun and teacher with many years of meditation experience. A delicious home-made morning tea will be served in the break to give you time to relax and absorb the teachings. Everyone is welcome.

The Teacher

Gen Kelsang Tsalden is the Resident Teacher of Kadampa Meditation Centre Adelaide and will visit KMC Sydney to teach this workshop. Gen Tsalden is an Australian Buddhist nun who has practised Kadampa Buddhism for over 18 years, training in Sydney and the UK. Her clear, inspiring teachings and gentle manner make Buddhist wisdom accessible to all.
