Offering Our Faith Retreat
Tuesday 4 June

Buddha appeared in this world to fulfill his compassionate wish to benefit each and every living being every day.

Retreat Description

On June 4th, Turning the Wheel of Dharma Day, we celebrate the deeds and great kindness of our root Guru & founder of the New Kadampa Tradition, Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche.

As faithful modern Kadampa disciples we remember the great kindness of Venerable Geshe-la every day, but on this auspicious day, with minds of rejoicing and gratitude, we will offer him our faith through using the special prayer ‘Request to the Holy Spiritual Guide Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso from his Faithful Disciples’ and collecting our Guru’s name mantra in a one-day retreat.

There will be two sessions using the sadhana ‘The Hundreds of Deities of the Joyful Land According to Highest Yoga Tantra’ and the special request prayer. In the afternoon, the retreat will conclude with ‘Offering to the Spiritual Guide’ dedicated to the flourishing of everything that Venerable Geshe-la established in our world.

This day also marks the birthday of Venerable Geshe-la who was born on Turning the Wheel of Dharma Day in 1931.
