About the Course

When anxiety strikes, everything else goes on hold. We stop believing in ourself and instead relate to a limited version of who we are and what we can achieve. The worst part about anxiety is that it is a completely deceptive mind that manages to control us. Anxiety’s version of reality that we are believing in is completely fabricated and extremely limiting.

At this relaxing and informative half day course, Kelsang Jangsem will teach a meditation method to immediately reduce the power that anxiety has over us. Then he will explain, using logic and examples, how we can change our thinking, replacing our anxious thoughts every time they arise. Finally, he will explain how it is possible to dig out the root of anxiety, leaving no basis for being fooled by anxiety. Understanding this reasoning can leave us feeling empowered to overcome our anxiety in daily life.

Workshop Format

Over two sessions (both one and a quarter hours long), you’ll learn how how to control your mind, rather than allowing it to control you. You’ll have the opportunity to have your questions answered by a Buddhist monk and teacher with many years of meditation experience. A delicious home-made morning tea will be served in the break to give you time to relax, absorb the teachings and get to know each other. Everyone is welcome.

About the Teacher

Kelsang Jangsem is the Resident Teacher of Kadampa Meditation Centre Sydney. He has been practising meditation and Buddhism since 1997 and he brings much experience of teaching Kadam Dharma in a warm, kind and inclusive style. We are delighted to have his knowledge, experience and warm heartedness at KMC Sydney.
