Meet the Meditation Teachers

Resident Teacher, Gen Kelsang Lhachog

Gen Kelsang Lhachog is an Australian Buddhist nun who has been studying and practising Kadampa Buddhism with Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche for over 30 years.

Gen Lhachog is an inspiring example of Modern Buddhism in practice. She presents Buddha’s teachings with beautiful clarity, warmth and sincerity, skilfully guiding people from all walks of life to find inner peace and lasting happiness.

In addition to our day courses, guided retreats and in-depth study programs, Gen Kelsang Lhachog teaches our Manly class on Monday evenings, our Mona Vale class on Tuesday evenings, and at KMC Sydney, Surry Hills on Wednesday evenings, Thursday mornings, and Sunday mornings.

Kelsang Luma

With over a decade of experience as a teacher of modern Buddhism in The New Kadampa Tradition, Kelsang Luma is well-loved for her humble nature, energy, and joy in sharing Buddha’s teachings. Her practical and uplifting approach makes meditation and Buddhism accessible to all.

Luma teaches our Simply Meditate class on a Tuesday evening at our KMC Sydney Centre in Surry Hills, and guides our Prayers for World Peace class on Saturday evenings each month.

Kelsang Malaya

Kelsang Malaya is a Buddhist nun who has been practising under Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso for 17 years. She teaches with warmth and humility whilst inspiring people to improve their lives through Buddhist meditation.

Malaya teaches our Epping class on Wednesday mornings.

Camilla Martin

Through Camilla’s clear teachings, she loves sharing her practical understanding and experience of Buddhism with her students.

Claudio Silva

Claudio teaches our Simply Meditate class at our KMC Sydney Centre in Surry Hills on Saturday mornings. Having practiced Kadampa Buddhism for over 20 years, he shares Buddha’s teachings with great humility, gentleness, and sincerity, helping others to connect with and apply them in daily life.

Gabrielle Somers

Gabrielle is a long-time practitioner of the New Kadampa Tradition. With her clear, insightful, and practical style, Gabrielle makes it easy to connect with meditation and apply Buddhist wisdom in everyday life.

Josette Tredrea

Josette has been practising Dharma for over 20 years during which she has taught various classes throughout Sydney.

Kate Barker

Kate has been practicing and teaching meditation for over 20 years. She shows the example of living a spiritual life within the busyness of modern times. Kate teaches our Meditation 101 courses.

Katrina Stucki

Katrina has over 20 years of experience as a Buddhist practitioner. She teaches with great kindness, warmth and humility, and shows how to practically apply solutions to situations in our daily life.

Katrina teaches our Balmain class on Monday evenings and our Simply Meditate class in Marrickville on Saturday mornings.

Kerry Littrich

Through the depth of her practical experience, Kerry explains how to use Buddha’s teachings to make life happy and meaningful while navigating the challenges of our busy modern world.

Kerry teaches our Neutral Bay class on Monday evenings.

Lang Pan

Lang has been a student at Kadampa Meditation Centre Sydney and much-loved Balmain assistant for many years. She is known for showing the example of cherishing others in daily life.

Lia Gasparro

Lia has been practising meditation for over 20 years. Through her natural warmth, sincerity and deep appreciation for meditation and Buddhism, Lia communicates the joy that we can experience by applying Buddha’s teachings to our daily life.

Michelle Nurman

Michelle has been a student of Geshe Kelsang Gyatso for over 20 years. She has taught and assisted various classes in greater Sydney. Through practical examples, Michelle loves to share the profound teachings of Kadam Dharma with students of all ages and to help illuminate the deep joy and meaning it can bring to our daily experiences.

Michelle teaches our Meditation for Kids classes at our KMC Sydney Centre in Surry Hills on Saturday afternoons.
